Event Calender
Our annual July event will be held in Adigrat, Ethiopia for 2010. Mark your calendar for July 31, 2010.
If you are planning to be there, please contact us.

Dear Agazians and supporters:
The Agazi School Alumni Association (ASAA) web site and email list have been quiet for some time. This is inevitable when only one person is in charge. ASAA-NA needs the participation of more people in writing articles, news, and educational materials. This need will even be more important than before because Michael is going to be busy with his new babies. ASAA-NA needs volunteers to step up and participate in posting and informing the rest of us.
ASAA-NA depended on Michael for so long in emailing and publishing our newsletter. Our chapter informs all sister chapters what is going on in America; however, no one informs the rest of us what is going on in Europe, Australia, or Africa, including Ethiopia. All of us want to hear all activities not only from ASAA-NA, but also from all sister chapters outside US. It will require every one’s participation, for our organization to be effective. Our sister chapters should be able to post their activities on our web site. Feel free to share your activities and opinions by posting on our Agazi.org or send them to our mailing list by e-mail.
For the last 14 years, ASAA-NA celebrated its annual event in different parts of the United States of America. This year, ASAA-NA will celebrate its 15th year anniversary in Adigrat on July 31, 2010 with its sister chapters in Adigrat, Mekele, Addis, and all sister chapters in Australia, Europe, and Africa. This process is already coordinated with sister chapters in Ethiopia. ASAA-NA extends its invitation to all sister chapters all over the world to join ASAA-NA, Adigart, Mekele, and Addis chapters to celebrate this historic event together. This event can be a forum where all chapters discuss their issues or concerns and could be a vehicle to arrive at a common goals and objectives. Together, we can provide our children, brothers and sisters the tools they need to advance their education and to be successful in life.
We have high expectations from our alumni in Ethiopia, particularly from ASAA-AA, to contact all former Agazians and supporters and invite all of them to participate at the July 31, 2010 meeting and fundraising event.
Last September (2009), while I was in Adigrat visiting my family, I had an opportunity to participate in the annual “Meskel” celebration of “nemeskelay dreb kebero hazalay” project. Agazians and non-Agazians came to celebrate this annual event from different parts of Ethiopia. Most of them came from Mekele and Addis Abeba by bus and plane. For a couple of days Adigrat was crowded and business was booming. After we enjoyed the Meskel event, all sister chapters (Adigrat, Mekele, Addis Abeba) and myself representing ASASA-NA, held meeting to share information and plan for the July 2010 ASAA-International event. The meeting was focused on what each chapter did or did not accomplish for the last few years and what must be done in the future. The discussion was open and candid. At the end, all chapters agreed to meet in Adigrat, on July 31, 2010 to discuss and plan in detail how to execute future projects in coordinated and organized way.
See you in Adigrat on July 31, 2010.
Ogbazghi Melles, ASAA-NA
